Core Technologies include

1. Short and Long Range Wireless Communications(CDMA, GSM, LTE, WIFI, Bluetooth, etc)
2. Location and Positioning technologies(GPS, Dead Reckoning, etc)
3. RF System Performance(Link budgets, antenna performance, cable and combiner losses, etc)
4. System Security(authentication, cryptology methods, threat models, etc).

Experience with leading projects and providing technical work direction in a highly dynamic and often ambiguous technology space is required.

* Participates in the selection of new employees
* Trains, develops and evaluates employees
* Develops workplans and manages team closely through execution
* Uses Methodical approach to lead problem solving activities through root cause to containment and corrective action and takes steps to prevent recurrence
* Communicates complex technical concepts in a straightforward, simple and comprehensible matter
* Communicates and Coordinates overall engineering activities with other departments and/or divisions
* Coordinates with vendors, customers and leads relationships with key strategic technology suppliers(Qualcomm, Verizon, Sirf, etc
* Reviews legislative and regulatory proposal or actions to determine impact on projects
* Builds and Maintains subject matter expertise in the relevant core technology domains through networking, research, problem solving, and personal interest
* Extrapolates and leverages trends in adjacent industries to exploit potential synergies(consumer electronics, internet, etc)
* Provides continuous feedback to direct reports and performs periodic formal performance reviews

Qualifications

* Demonstrated thorough knowledge of relevant telematics core technologies and experience in their deployment and application in real world scenarios
* High level of analytical ability and intellectual horsepower
* Ability to extrapolate current technology trends to predict future trends and winners
* Creates and maintains an environment that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential
* Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
* Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
* Knowledge of computer software and relevant test and validation tools

Education, Training and Experience

Required:

* BSE, BS: Electrical Eng, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Aeronautical Eng, Physics, or equivalent
* 6+ Years of relevant industry experience in designing, specifying, validating, or launching telematics, infotainment, or telecommunication systems
* 2+ Years of experience in managing engineering teams

Preferred:

* MSE, MS: Electrical Eng, Computer Science, Math, Aeronautical Eng, Physics, or equivalent
* 10+ Years of relevant industry experience in designing, specifying, validating, or launching telematics, infotainment, or telecommunication systems
* 4+ Years of automotive electronics design and development experience
* 4+ Years of experience in managing engineering teams
