Senior Accountant Job

Work involves a high level of independent judgment, decision-making, accuracy, creativity, and initiative. Occasionally instruct or assign work to others.
* Prepare analysis of financial statements for assigned region and consolidated statement and prepare applicable sections of Annual Report, SEC filings, press releases as well as other internal and external reporting.
* Provide counsel to Regions, operating units and staffs regarding financial reporting and analysis and identification/resolution of accounting issues.
* Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues.
* Analysis of specialized accounting / reporting areas relating to SEC rules and regulations and FASB items.
* Understanding of and ability to apply accounting and financial reporting standards (GAAP), SEC rules and regulations as well as FASB Statements and other related standards.
* Analyze quantitative data or complex problems of various types. Develop new methods of analysis, select methods of data presentation, such as charts, diagrams, and graphs.
* Providing internal and/or external financial analysis, consultation and decision support
* Searches out and corrects inconsistent data
* Able to summarize and present data to all levels of the organization
* Coordinates information between regions and functional departments
* Identify, develop and execute process improvements in GM's reporting and analysis and other financial workstreams
Qualifications
Basic Required:
* College degree with a major in accounting or business administration or equivalent experience
*
CPA certification
*
3-10 years Accounting/Finance experience
*
2 years Public Accounting experience
*
Experience in financial statement analysis and preparation
* Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities where problems are complex
* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork and partnerships
* Strong oral and written communications skills
* Highly proficient Personal Computer skills and technology driven
* Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
