* Thorough knowledge and understanding of:
* Reciprocating engine performance, efficiency, emissions, current and future engine concepts;
* Fundamental processes in engines, including fluid mechanics, sprays, turbulence, heat transfer, chemical kinetics, and turbulent combustion;
* Computational methods and numerical analysis.
